ABOUT ELECTRICIAN :

Electrician trade under CTS is one of the most popular courses delivered nationwide through network of ITIs. The course is of two years (04 semester) duration. It mainly consists of Domain area and Core area. In the Domain area (Trade Theory & Practical) impart professional skills and knowledge, while Core area (Workshop Calculation and science, Engineering Drawing and Employability Skills) impart requisite core skill, knowledge and life skills.
An electrician is a tradesman specializing in electrical wiring of buildings, transmission lines, stationary machines, and related equipment. Electricians may be employed in the installation of new electrical components or the maintenance and repair of existing electrical infrastructure.
Today’s electricians can be divided into four main categories:
Residential Electricians – These electricians work in home dwellings that can range from single-family houses to large apartment complexes.
Commercial Electricians – Work sites can include office buildings, retail outlets, schools, hospitals, and industrial facilities that do not involve high-voltage. These electricians install and repair electrical systems found in existing commercial buildings, new construction, and renovation projects.
Industrial Electricians – These electricians perform maintenance and installation of electrical components and machinery found in industrial settings. This may include working with high-voltage electricity at industrial manufacturing locations.
Low Voltage Electricians – As their name implies, these electricians are involved with low-voltage systems that primarily include voice, data, and video (VDV) networks and systems. Inside the industry you may hear these professionals referred to as VDV electricians or Voice-Data-Video electricians. Their work typically focuses on phone lines and fiber optic cable repair and installation in any setting where these materials are used.
Trainee broadly needs to demonstrate that they are able to:
• Read and interpret technical parameters/ documents, plan and organize work processes, identify necessary materials and tools;
• Perform task with due consideration to safety rules, accident prevention regulations and environmental protection stipulations;
• Apply professional skill, knowledge & employability skills while performing jobs.
• Check the job/ assembly as per drawing for functioning identify and rectify errors in job/ assembly.
• Document the technical parameters related to the task undertaken.

ABOUT FIRE ENGINEERING :
Fire is one of the simplest form of energy known to man, ever since stone age, when man learnt to use it, first time ever it has been used for a variety of purposes. The analysis of major fires, which broke out in buildings, the main causes finally identified, were due to electrical short circuit/ overheating of electrical equipment and open flame/ unextinguishd smoking materials. In industrial buildings, in addition to these sparks due to electricity/ impact/ friction and poor housekeeping are also identified as causes of major fire hazards. So while planning for the fire prevention measures for any occupancy it is necessary to study in details the possibilities of fire due to all these sources and the preventive measures required. At last we knowthe fact that many valuable lives &crores of rupees of material are lost in fire accidents all over the world.
This has created demand of trained fire & safety engineers & fighters. This has also created wide business potential as well as growth in overall fire protection industry. Overall, the demand of highly trained Fire Protecting Engineers, encouraged to VCFESM presenting fire & safety engineering to join the new profession.

ABOUT SAFETY ENGINEERING:
Safety professionals play an important role in the safety of all forms of Transportation e.g. Railroads, Aviation, Shipping Corporations, Oil & Gas Pipelines, Chemical Plants and many Engineering Industries involves the identification, Evaluation, and control of hazards in man-machine system (Products, machines, Equipment and facilities) that contain a potential to cause injury to people or damage property. Safety management consists of safety programme elements, policies, and procedures, that manage the conduct of safety activity. Safety Engineering and Safety Management make up the integrated whole. While Safety Engineering can be viewed as being the administrative software side of such prevention. Safety Management provides the structure within which the techniques of safety engineering are applied.
The purpose of this course is to provide the students with an understanding of industrial safety and accident prevention. By this course, the student will gain knowledge of hazards in work place, management liability and play a role in risk reduction. The educational goal of VCFESM is to introduce students to the technical field in regard to prevent and reduce injuries or accidents in work places, because it directly or indirectly threatens mankind for a right to live for mankind. Another goal is to contribute to the industry and development of the country and promotion of citizens welfare in accordance with education of special engineers. Industrial safety engineering concerned with preventing accidents and minimizing their consequences as well as with reduction of stress and injury to human being at the work place. Another important aspect is to minimize the property damage as chemical, electrical, mechanical, architectural or safety engineer. Therefore, the trends in the recent research is technical means for effectively interfacing operations on the Man to Machine to Machine System.

ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING:
Industries worldwide are trying to either eliminate the release of materials that can harm the public or damage the environment, or recover and recycle excess materials for environmental conservation. An environmental safety officer can help in regulating these processes. The officer should have extensive knowledge of environmental standards, laws and regulations.
Environment at problems exist in many countries and industries. Engineers may work in such diverse industries as Water Supply and Drainage, Irrigation, Mining, Power and Petrochemical and other Heavy Industries.
Demand for professionals in the area of industrial hygiene - the scientists, engineers, and others who grapple with a variety of workplace and community health issues Is rising, according to those working in the field. Their responsibilitiescan include a range of activities, such ascleaningupoil, chemical leaks, measuring air samples and designing safer manufacturing plants. Compensation for those in the field has been high, reflecting the increasing emphasis placed by government, industry and the public on improving the environment, according to a recently released surveys.

ABOUT DISASTER MANAGEMENT :

Disaster is a serious disruption in the functioning of a society, causing widespread human, material or environmental loss which exceeds the ability of the affected society to cope using only its own resources. Disasters may be sudden (like an earthquake/ tsunami) or slow (like a drought) or they could be natural or man-made. As India, has a large number of vulnerable regions, natural disaster management has emerged as a top priority for the country. India has integrated administrative machinery for the management of disasters at the national, state, district and Sub district levels. The basic responsibility of undertaking rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures in the event of natural disasters at present is that of the State Governments concerned with the Central Government supplementing the efforts of the States by providing financial and logistical support.
